The font design is primarily inspired by the Bauhaus style, which originated from the Staatliches Bauhaus (State Bauhaus School) founded in Germany in 1919 by architect Walter Gropius. "Bauhaus" in German combines "Bau" (building) and "Haus" (house). He hoped to break away from overly decorative architecture and convey a practical, functional aesthetic through the creative concept of a new designer organization.

Under such utopian ideals, the Bauhaus movement revolutionized global definitions of aesthetics, and has continued to influence architecture, art, industrial design, and even fashion to this day.
